The Clock Builder, part 2

Hello, Everyone!

Let’s start this off with a bad joke.

What has two thumbs, hasn’t posted since February, and completely missed the 1 year anniversary of his blog way back in May?

This guy right here. Continue reading

The Clock Builder (part 1)

Good morning, Everyone! I hope you’re having a great Tuesday today.

Quick reminder about the Blog Hop post from last week. If you haven’t jumped over to check out Rati’s, Linda’s, and Jessica’s blogs yet, I say go for it! Click on their name and spread some views around. 🙂 Continue reading

“The Who, the Where, the Uh-Oh” Flash Challenge

Hello Everyone!

This week’s flash challenge from Chuck Wending is The Who, the When, the Uh-Oh. In his generosity he has given us 2000 words to play with instead of the normal 1000. The Random Number Gods granted me the following:

Who: A Dirty Cop

Where: A Far-Flung Space Station

The Uh-Oh: Left For Dead, Seeking Revenge

Enjoy! Continue reading

The Hangman’s Stage, (part one)

Tuesday, Tuesday, Tuesday!

Welcome everyone!  We now return you to your regularly scheduled program!  That’s right, now that I’ve gotten a handle on what to expect from Camp NaNo, it’s business as usual.  That means it’s story time!

Today we revisit some favorite characters of mine.  We’re jumping back into the Westocalypse- the apocalyptic west.  I think it’s about time we find out what trouble Doc, Sara, and Tucker have gotten into.

But, Joe! What happened to your favorite characters last time?  Shoot folks, y’all can look at their first adventure: Easy Money.  Just click it!

As per usual, I’ve split the story into two parts for ease of reading.  (I also happen to like the old style of serial storytelling.)  On Thursday, when the second half posts, I will also post the complete story on my Short Fiction page.  Short Fiction is a collection of every short story I’ve written here on the blog as well as some older stories I’ve posted in secret- sneaky me. Take a look, you won’t be disappointed.

Please feel free to comment on the story.  I’d love to hear from you.  Enjoy.  Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

Hello Mudda, Hello Fadda…

Here I am at, Camp NaNoWriMo!  Don’t worry, I’m not about to break into song.  But I’m sure you’re all thinking it now- or perhaps my age is showing….

At any rate, it’s Day 3 of Camp and all but three of my Cabin Mates are hammering out the word counts.  I myself am up to 8,351 words so far.  Feels like a good start.  It also gives me some wiggle room Continue reading

Summer Camp! And Me Without My Swim Trunks…

Good day everyone!

I know a Monday post from me is unusual.  But today is the first day of not only the month of July, but also of Camp NaNoWriMo!  If you haven’t heard, this is a Summer edition of the NaNoWriMo event that takes place in November.

This whole experience is new to me.  NaNoWriMo is the Continue reading

Flash Fiction, June 28

Flash Fiction time!  I’m a little slow out of the gate this week, so bear with me.  This week our challenge was Down The TV Tropes Rabbit Hole.  We got a random TV Trope as our topic for the 1000 word challenge.  I got “We Can Rebuild Him” for my trope.  Think Six Million Dollar Man or RoboCop.  That was the inspiration at any rate…

I came in at 857 words.  Please feel free to comment on this little experiment and I hope you enjoy the read.  Rated P for potty mouth.  Thanks for stopping by!

(A Trope is a common or overused theme or device- like a cliche.  So says Websters) Continue reading
