Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner

Good Morning, Everyone!

First things first, I’m not making chicken dinner. Sorry to disappoint. But in the words of Carlos Estevez (a.k.a. Charlie Sheen), “Winning.”

Yesterday, Monday the 29th, I successfully completed Camp NaNoWriMo. My word count is currently 53, 726! As much as I would like to say that the Science Fiction Novel is finished, I cannot. I still have to write about 2 or 3 more chapters to wrap everything up. And then comes the clean-up and editing. Continue reading

Flash Fiction…..Sunday!

Flash Fiction Friday- Four Random Items. Okay, I realize it’s Sunday and I’m a touch late. I was camping for part of the weekend and spent my time fishing instead of writing. But I didn’t forget about it, so here’s my contribution at 997 words.

My 4 Random Items:  an unopened envelope, a dead man’s guitar, a road sign, and an animal skull. Continue reading

Mothers, Short Stories, and Poetry

Good morning everyone!

I’d like to introduce you to my Mother. She’s pretty awesome, but my opinion is biased after all, because she’s my Mom. Her blog is just starting out and from here it looks like a wild adventure about life, music, food, comedy, tragedy- Life! It should be a fun time. I invite you check out her ramble, at Eclectic Stirling. Be nice, or I will hunt you down and unleash the fury of sweaty mice with bad cheese. *big smiles*

So on Tuesday we finished up with Alan/ Arlo Croste’s second mystery (and I promise there is another in the works right now). For those enjoying the western/ sci-fi/ post-apocalypse of Westocalypse, there’ll be another adventure soon. If you missed them, or just want to re-visit, you can find them on the Short Fiction page along with a few other tales. Continue reading

Flash Fiction

This week for the Flash Challenge, we each got to use the Random Plot Generator!  Thanks to Chuck Wendig at TerribleMinds, I received:  The story begins when your Protagonist opens someone else’s mail.  Another character is a Thief who bites his/ her nails.

At 837 words, this is what I came up with.  Enjoy.  Comments are appreciated!  🙂  Thanks for stopping by everyone.

Croste Your Heart, part two

Good day everyone!

Time for the next exciting leg of the newest Croste mystery.  I decided to stretch this one out, I had fun with the three part posting of Hangman’s Stage and thought I’d do it with this tale too.

Which brings me to an important question.  What do you, my dear readers, prefer?  Are you enjoying the serial style posting for short stories?  Or would you rather I post the entire short story in one shot?

If you’re curious about the Croste’s first mystery, you can find it here: Double Croste.  Enjoy the next leg of the story as the plot thickens…

As always, your comments are welcome and appreciated.  Thanks for stopping by!

Croste Your Heart, part one

Good morning everyone!

Business as usual on this fine Tuesday.  And we have an exciting new mystery with the dual personalities of Alan and Arlo Croste.  I know he’s my favorite Occult Detective.  As usual with a short story, I’m breaking it into separate parts for your ease of reading.  On Thursday I’ll post the second half.

Also, when I post the second half, I will post the complete story on the Short Fiction page.  You can get there by clicking the tab above or by following the link here: Short Fiction.  Don’t forget to check out Croste’s first mystery: Double Croste.

Thanks for stopping by!
